Transforming Healthcare Access for Libya’s Educational Sector: The Success Story of the Golden Document Platform.

the problem.

The educational sector in Libya, including students, teachers, and their immediate families, faced significant challenges in accessing affordable healthcare services. Despite the presence of numerous healthcare facilities, the high costs of medical services remained a barrier, particularly for those within the education sector who often have limited financial resources. Additionally, there was no centralized system to connect these individuals with available discounts or healthcare providers willing to offer reduced rates.

the solution.

To meet this challenge, Techween collaborated closely with Al-Wathiqa Al-Dhahabiya (The Golden Document) to develop a comprehensive digital platform tailored to the needs of Libya’s education sector.

  1. Platform Development: We designed and developed a user-friendly website that serves as a central hub for all stakeholders. The platform lists healthcare providers offering discounts of up to 50% across various medical services, including labs, clinics, pharmacies, and hospitals.

  2. Domain Name and Cloud Hosting: We provided a reliable domain name and cloud hosting services to ensure the platform’s seamless accessibility, high performance, and scalability. This infrastructure allows the platform to handle a large number of users simultaneously, ensuring uninterrupted service across Libya and beyond.

  3. Key Features:

    • Comprehensive Listings: The platform features detailed profiles of healthcare providers, allowing users to easily search by city or municipality, access contact information, service details, working hours, and discount rates.
    • Direct Communication: Users can directly message healthcare providers through the platform to coordinate services and make appointments.
    • Scalable Design: The platform was built with future expansion in mind, ready to accommodate additional sectors like food, travel, and other services as the initiative grows.

the results.

Since its launch, the Golden Document Platform has achieved remarkable success:

  • Widespread Adoption: The platform now supports around 135,000 subscribers, including students, teachers, and their families, across 425 educational institutions.
  • Healthcare Partnerships: It has partnered with approximately 80 healthcare institutions, delivering around 43,000 discounted transactions, totaling nearly 8.6 million LYD in savings.
  • Regional Expansion: Initially targeting Greater Tripoli, the platform is poised to expand its services across all Libyan cities and municipalities, further enhancing its reach and impact.
  • Sector Expansion: The platform is set to broaden its discount offerings to include food markets, restaurants, travel agencies, car dealerships, and more, providing even greater value to its users.

The Golden Document Platform stands as a testament to the power of digital transformation in addressing critical community needs, offering a sustainable solution that bridges the gap between healthcare providers and the educational sector in Libya.
